Former U.S. Army Medic (68W)
“After serving in the military for four years, I was determined to make the most of my education benefits. I soon learned that the GI Bill is just the beginning. I dove deep into the resources available to veterans, finding that there are countless organizations dedicated to our success in academia. These resources weren't just financial; they offered mentoring, tutoring, and a community that understood exactly what I was going through. It was empowering to know I wasn't alone on this journey.
As the founder of the Green Lamp Foundation, my mission now is to make these incredible resources more accessible to other veterans. Many of us don't realize the breadth of support available, from scholarship opportunities to academic counseling tailored specifically for veterans. I've seen firsthand how these resources can transform lives, turning the discipline and determination we learned in the military into academic and professional success. It's crucial that we spread the word, ensuring that every veteran knows the doors that their service can open in the world of academia.”
